Weekend Warriors: It’s No Longer About Working Out

Intermittently since the beginning of 2021, I have been polling people about whether they plan on working over the coming weekend.

I did it because I noticed my own schedule expanding to do all the things that were necessary to keep up as a coach. I thought other people might be experiencing something similar.

My decidedly unscientific poll asked the question:

Are you planning to work this weekend?

Respondents were offered 3 possible answers — Yes, Maybe, No.

I expected to find that about one-third of respondents would say they were planning to do so.

The people I am connected to and who follow me are primarily white-collar workers and US-based. That may be because of many years, I did not accept connection requests from OUS because I only did US-based search work. A few years ago, I started to change that policy and accepted non-US requests. It is rare that I accept them from parts of Africa known for messaging about how a member of their non-existent national royalty or a member of their military leadership recently died and required assistance with their estate.
