00:00 Intro

02:56 A story about college grads

07:07 What does it mean when recruiters contact people for positions they didn’t apply for?

08:42 I’ve decided to specialize in cybersecurity after 30+ years in IT. I’ve worked in the Helpdesk, network administration of Novell and Microsoft NT and AD networks, wifi, networking with Cisco and Aruba routers, switches and access points, enterprise backups, a host of network protocols, network integration of vendor hardware, and a few massive deployment projects at major NYC hospitals. I want to start in the PCI DSS space under cybersecurity as an internal analyst/engineer. I’m studying for Security+, with Azure and CISSP to follow. I want to leverage my 3 decades of IT knowledge and experience towards being a more well-rounded vulnerability engineer. What are your thoughts and/or suggestions about my direction, additional training and position(s) sought for?
